Pearland, TX (Future150) -- 2020 PG Jacoby Brown out of Pearland, Texas looks like he's ready to make some noise on the hoops scene in the Houston area. Coming into his sophomore season at Shadow Creek High School, there should be plenty of hype around his name after a huge summer.
Playing up in 17U as a rising sophomore is a big task at hand to begin with, but playing up and excelling against guys who are mostly two years older is highly impressive. That is just what Brown did with Hoop Nation Family this summer as he was arguably the MVP of his squad at Future150's Houston Battleground Tournament.
After a highly successful summer, it's time for Brown to jump right back into action as the high school season begins. He knows this is no time to sit back and settle, he's ready to work hard and get better.
"I really want to become a better floor general, and a better defender on and off the ball," Brown said. "Picking up a division one offer is also a big goal that I want to achieve this upcoming season," Brown said later on.
His speed, slashing abilities, and overall size for his position give him the looks of a very solid low-major point guard prospect at this point. It wouldn't be surprising to see a handful of schools from the state of Texas reach out to him before the beginning his junior season.
