First thing the Iowa State coaches told me after their scrimmage ....Doug McDermott is the REAL DEAL. Even though no scoring took place, they said he easily had close to 50 against them.

Do you guys think McDermott will be able to score like this (or at least at a good rate) on the next level?

When I was on Campus at Creighton a few weeks ago, I saw Doug do things that show me he is NBA ready. Will he be a 25/10 guy, I’m not sure. But I know, in the right system, he can light it up. The best thing for Doug will be finding a team like the Miami Heat. A team who doesn’t need him to be “the guy” but score when he gets the chance. Similar to a Shane Battier or Mike Miller (Who they are missing this year).

Gonzaga is just too talented for the Rams to stick around. Wouldn’t at all be surprised to see this get ugly in the 2nd half.

Gerard “Greedy” Coleman can really score the rock. Did that at Providence really well two years ago. Zags look legit on the perimeter again

Colorado State is talented, just young. No “go to” guy yet.

Junior Dwight Smith is out with a broken hand suffered on Saturday.

Hard to replace guys like Colton Iverson, Greg Smith, etc.

Transfer Stanton Kidd will be huge for them next year. They could really use a guy like him this year.

Some recruiting news going down in the past hour. First Avery Patterson of Wheeler (GA) commits to WKU. He’s a great get for the Toppers and will give them a pass first guard from day one.

2nd: Tyus Jones and Jahlil Okafor will announce their college decisions on Friday. For those keeping track at home, thats three of the top players in the nation deciding in a matter of hours. Going to be BANANAS

Personally I agree with you. I know a lot of people believe that Illinois will ultimately be the spot for Cliff but I think the Jayhawks will be tough to beat.

As a Development/Skills guy, I HATE seeing players try to do everything 1 on 5. Gonzaga DOESN’T have this problem and it shows. Great team victory tonight.

Arizona with the big lead over Long Beach State in the 1st half. Gordon looking solid. Gabe York leading the way with 12 points.

Mudiay had 33 points in Prime Prep’s win over Yates tonight! JC Washington (Northern Colorado commit) had a great night for Yates! NC got a steal!

Aaron Gordon with 14 points and 9 rebounds so far for Arizona as they are cruising past Long Beach State. Gordon has been forgotten with all the talk about the other freshmen, Julius Randle, Andrew Wiggins, and Jabari Parker to name a few. However, don’t be surprised if he has a better season than those guys. Kid is a future Top 10 NBA pick.

Feel like there’s a lack of buzz to this year’s marathon. Not sure if it’s due to an overnight slate or the fact that it started at 7. Maybe it’s just because I’m older. Still it’s kind of depressing
