Lot of things to like in this first half of Stanford vs BYU. Eric Mika looks like he will be a major factor. Stanford will need Josh Huestis, Dwight Powell, and Chasson Randle to play at this level if they are going to make the tournament. The Cardinal have built a great three man class this year already and could be players for Justise Winslow, especially if they go dancing this year.
I agree on the lack of buzz this year. A couple of lower tier games hasn’t helped. Plus, people are probably saving up energy for the big games tomorrow night!
Stanford is going to be one of those teams this year who is frustrating to watch. When Randle, Heustis and Powell disappear, they will lose some unforgivable games. However, when all three are firing on all cylinders, they could upset some Top 25 caliber teams.
Josh Huestis plays hard. That being said he needs to be more of a threat offensively so BYU doesnt doubt on Powell. On the other end, Matt Carlino is starting to show why he is so valuable. He can score the rock in a hurry. BYU has perimeter weapons. If Mika plays like this all year than they could be very dangerous come March. What do you guys think?
If you had asked me a couple of days ago I would’ve been more positive about it. Pretty much would need to be sold on that the freshmen he would come in would fit will with his game and a TON of playing time. Even then it’s a bit of a stretch. Especially given the uncertainty of Johnny Dawkins after this season
My guy Kourtney Roberson (Jr) from Louisiana had a big night for Texas A&M ..had 24 points, 10 rebounds in TAMU’s win over Mississippi Valley State. Great start for that young man. A&M will be looking for him to make these types of contributions on a consistent basis.
I think that WSU is going to roll. Too much talent. you know that fan base is going to be fired up and ready to go. Just not a very good combo for the Toppers.
For anyone who has been lurking on the board and wants tips to staying up: Grab headphones, put one in, and blast uptempo music. Doing wonders for me right now
Wichita State looks like another sneaky dangerous team come March. That being said I love the effort that WKU big man Rostov has brought tonight. A tireless worker, I can relate.
