The Northwest Guilford Vikings defeated Western Guilford by the score of 95-80 on Thursday night. Leading all scorers was 2016 wing Ce’Darius Dockery of Western Guilford who finished the night with 29 points and was on fire from outside. 2016 SG Michael Giles also had 21 points for Western Guilford.

At the end of the night the deadly trio for NW Guilford of 2017 PG Jalen Spicer, 2017 F Reggie Davis, and 2018 SG Tre Turner proved to be way too much for Western Guilford. Midway through the 3rd quarter the game seemed to be wrapped up as the Vikings had opened up an 18 point lead, but then Dockery and Giles shot the ball at a ridiculous percentage the rest of the way and cut the lead all the way down to one in the 4th quarter. This is when Tre Turner turned on his clutch gene as he drained two threes in a row to open the lead back up late in the 4th and pull away for good.

2017 PG Jalen Spicer finished with 17 points, 12 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 steals, while Reggie Davis hustled and scrapped his way to 21 points and 15 rebounds highlighted by two rim rattling dunks. The clutch machine Tre Turner finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds, 7 steals and 5 assists.

The unsung hero for NW Guilford on the night may have been senior guard Jaylen Gore (19 points, 6 assists) who was scoring early and often to get the Vikings out to a nice lead, which they never lost throughout the entirety of the game.

Western Guilford will look to bounce back when they Bartlett Yancey on Monday. The Vikings of NW Guilford will travel to Mt. Airy on Tuesday and put their undefeated record on the line when they take on North Surry.

I will be covering High Point Christian vs Carlisle (VA) tomorrow evening and will have stats and recap later tomorrow evening. So check back here at Future150 for updates on what should be an exciting game featuring two top tier PG’s going at it with 2016 Ty Graves of HPCA (BC commit) going head to head with top 10 2018 PG Rasir Bolton of Carlisle.

Why does Jaylen Gore always get the unsung hero award?  He is legit.  Solid all around player who produces on offensive and defense night after night for Coach Revis. Stats don’t lie.

I agree 100%, haven’t seen him as much as Jalen, Tre, and Reggie. But in the few times I have seen him he looks to be a legit low major D1 prospect.
