Former Marquette-verbal, Nick Noskowiak has opened up his recruitment. This will be interesting because high major point guards usually make the difference between NIT at Sweet 16.
Take Illinois. A program struggling to recapture the glory of 2005, but unable to land a high major lead guard. They thought they had Quentin Snider last year, but Lyle’s academic shortcomings left his scholarship vacant. Then Snider elected to stay home with Louisville.
Illinois was one of the first teams to reach out to Noskowiak and looks to battle until the day he commits. Competition will be fierce.
Already, Missouri, California, UNLV, Georgia, Auburn, and others have expressed significant interest. Auburn is an interesting one. Rarely do SEC teams recruit Wisconsin, but Bruce Pearl coached there what feels like a lifetime. He has both respect and connections there.
Who will land the talented guard?
