Dallas, TX (Future150) -- One of the elite scorers in the 2015 class ended his recruitment on Tuesday morning, pledging to an in-state program.
King McClure, a 6-foot-3 power guard in the mold of current New Orleans Pelicans guard Ben Gordon, chose the Baylor Bears over scholarship offers from Arkansas, Kansas & SMU.
Currently ranked as the #12 prospect in the country according to Future150, his ranking will slide a bit on our updated list, but there is no doubt he will remain in the top 25 prospect when we re-release our list in the coming weeks.
This past season for Triple A Academy (TX) he averaged 21.0 points per game, along with 5.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists & 1.6 assists.
Playing with the Texas Titans on the Nike EYBL circuit, McClure has been a powerful force, when healthy. In a matchup last July against #1 prospect Malik Newman and the Jackson Tigers, he went off for 28 points, seven rebounds and three assists after returning from a knee injury that held him out for the majority of AAU season.
Now 100% healthy, he has started off well in his first EYBL stop with the Titans last weekend in Sacramento, California, averaging 11.8 points, 3.0 rebounds & 1.0 assist while leading them to a 3-1 record.
