Richmond, CA (Future150) -- Jabari Bird, the 19th ranked recruit in the country according to Future150 analysts for the 2013 class, is officially off the board.
The 5-star recruit and smooth shooting guard has elected to stay close to home and spend his college days at the University of California at Berkeley.
The 6'5" shooting guard becomes the highest profile recruit to commit to the school since head coach Mike Montgomery took over the program five years ago.
He decided that he was ready to commit after visiting the school last weekend along with other high profile recruits Aaron Gordon and Marcus Lee.
He chose the Golden Bears over west coast programs Colorado, Oregon, and Washington.
