Charlotte, NC (Future150) -- Point guard Justin Taylor of Mallard Creek High School (NC) is excited for his upcoming freshman season and is looking forward to the challenges that will come with it. After making the all-star game at Future150's Elite24 Camp, and showing out with Team United this summer, it seems safe to say that he is more than ready to play and be a key piece on Mallard Creek's varsity squad as a freshman.
"I think this year, as a freshman, I will have to be a go-to scorer and one of the main playmakers," Taylor said. "I'm also going to need to be able to help be one of the leaders of the team with the help of my returning upperclassmen teammates."
There's nothing to argue with about those comments. Taylor has the ability to takeover and control the pace of the game at the floor general position. He is usually calm and poised when on the court, no matter what situation his team may be in. This is something that is wonderful to see coming from a freshman.
As he continues to improve upon his game, Taylor will certainly be a name to be familiarized with when it comes to talking about some of the best PG's in the Carolina's in the class of 2021.
"In order to keep becoming a better player, I need to mostly improve upon my upper-body strength and having more of a scorers mentality when I'm on the floor."
Taylor's high school career should be an exciting one to watch and it won't be too long until his recruitment process begins to heat up. Continue to follow along with Future150 as we continue to check in with our recent alumni of our elite camps!
