Chicago, IL (Future150) -- One of the most quiet recruitments of an elite player came to a close on Thursday afternoon, as Jabari Parker announced his commitment to Mike Krzyzewski and the Duke Blue Devils.
"The fall of 2013 I will be attending Duke University," Parker, the No. 3 overall player in the 2013 Future150 rankings, said as he held up a Duke shirt.
The 6-foot-8 Simeon (Ill.) star also considered scholarship offers from Michigan State, Florida, BYU, and Stanford. He is also the reigning 2013 Gatorade Player of the Year.
"I just chose Duke because it was the perfect fit for me," he explained. "Coach [Mike] Krzyzewski is just interested and he's really played a key in my development, even throughout high school and telling me the basic things in what I need to do. And I just felt comfortable."
Parker joins an impressive duo in Matt Jones and Semi Ojeleye for the Blue Devils in 2013; they will also add Mississippi State transfer Rodney Hood next year, too.
With Parker's commitment, four of the top ten recruits remain uncommitted in the 2013 Future150 rankings, as Andrew Wiggins, Julius Randle, Aaron Gordon, and Dakari Johnson are set to make spring decisions.
