New Orleans, LA (Future150) -- New Orleans, LA (Future150)- As the high school basketball season begins, some 2016 prospects are narrowing their list of suitors and deciding which school they plan on attending for the next four years after graduation. Helen Cox High School in New Orleans, LA has produced several quality Division 1 basketball prospects over the last decade. That trend will not be ending in 2016 as Forward Roydell Brown has recently narrowed his list to two suitors.
Future150 Camp alum, Roydell Brown, a long-limbed uber-athletic 6’5 Wing Forward, recently announced that he would be making his college decision on November 4th at Helen Cox. After being recruited by schools such as UTEP, South Alabama, Louisiana Tech, Murray State etc. Brown has cut his finalists to Northwestern State & Lousiana-Lafeyette. When asked about what he liked about the two schools, Roydell had this to say: “They play at a fast pace, push the ball, have great coaching staffs, and will push me to the best of my abilities”.
Roydell is one of the more athletic wings in 2016 with an explosive first step, and a pretty solid handle. Physical tools are not lacking with this 2016 prospect rather it be his jump shot that needs to continue to be worked on, though he has displayed steady improvement. “I plan to keep improving my quickness, shooting ability, ball-handling, and my approach to the game in terms of letting things come to me” Brown said.
Northwestern State has been in the top 5 in the country in the previous four seasons in terms of pace and points per game. Louisiana-Lafayette is known as one of the more free-flowing offenses in the NCAA as well so it comes as no surprise that Brown would pick these schools as his top two choices.
Look for Brown to be the leading force for Helen Cox High School in his attempt to guide them to a state championship.
