C.C. Force Capture 14U Title at #MainEventCLT

Charlotte, NC (Future150) -- The 14U division saw the Central Carolina Force top the NC Flames in the title game. The Force was led by 2021's Tyler Rice and Daveon Thomas who both continue to prove why they're deserving of national rankings in their class. The Flames have a rising star in 2021 SF Dontavius Nash who dominated the competition and showed that he's one of the best 2021's in North Carolina. Who else stood out in the 14U division?

Future150 Main Event Charlotte 14U Honor Roll: 

Jacob Newman, 2022 PG, Team Loaded 704 (NC): Newman, playing up an age group, may have been the most impressive point guard in the division. The 5'9" floor general has deadly scoring abilities from all three levels and isn't afraid to take the big shot in a late game situation. It would be hard to argue against Newman as the #1 '22 PG in NC right now. 

Daveon Thomas, 2021 CG, C.C. Force (SC): Arguably the MVP of the entire division from this weekend, Thomas has continued to show improvements and huge strides in his game on both ends of the floor. His improved athleticism, ball-handling, and outside shot makes him a sure fire top tier '21 prospect in South Carolina. This is only the beginning for Thomas and he should have a very bright future ahead of himself. 

Quon Peterson, 2022 G/F, Upward Stars - York Co. (SC): Another stud prospect that was playing up an age division was the 5'11" wing guard. Peterson was very active on the glass, locked up multiple positions and showed that he was capable of scoring from all three levels. As a rising 8th grader it will definitely be interesting to see how he continues to grow and develop before he heads to high school. The potential is definitely there for this young man. 

Tyler Rice, 2021 PG, C.C. Force (SC): Rice continues to produce on the Future150 Main Event Tournament Series. The 6'0" lead guard uses his court vision, speed, crafty scoring, and elite ball-handling abilities to be a matchup nightmare for opposing teams. Even when he's not scoring the ball, he can hurt you in so many other ways. Rice continues to prove that he's one of the best pure point guards in the state of South Carolina, regardless of class. 

Dontavius Nash, 2021 SF, NC Flames (NC): Nash is an extremely high motored wing with strengths across the board. He didn't really dominate in one or two stat categories, he just consistently did all the right things on both ends of the floor. He has solid size standing nearly 6'1", and as he heads into his first year of high school ball he has a great chance to make an even bigger name for himself. 

Jalep Grant, 2021 SF, P1 Kings (NC): Grant had the performance of the night during night one of pool play. He scored 23 points and nailed the game winning three point basket as the time expired. Grant already has solid size on the wing at his age, but his long arms indicate he very well may grow more. He wasn't purely dominant all weekend but it is easy to see that he has a very high ceiling. 

Mac Washington, 2021 SG, Carolina Stampede (NC): The 6'0" scoring guard impressed just off of his physical traits alone. Washington is a super long 6'0" that loves to slash the lane and get to the line. He is more than capable of knocking down the three point jumper, but was at his best when slashing the lane and scoring over the top of the defense. On the defensive end he was snatching balls out of the passing lanes which led to easy buckets for his squad. A lot to like here with Washington. 

Jeremy Gregory, 2022 PF, Team Loaded 704 (NC): Sporting a size 17 foot, Gregory may be the prospect with the most upside from the 14U division. Standing at 6'2", He is projected to reach around 6'8" or 6'9". He has solid skills in the paint for a prospect his age and has the potential to be an elite rim-runner/rim-protector once he gets to the high school level. Gregory needs to start being tracked now. 

Jalen Lewis, 2021 SF, Savannah Blue Chips (GA): Lewis is a fundamental wing that does a little bit of everything when he's on the floor. He guarded multiple positions, and had flashes of dominance on the offensive end where he keeps the defenses guessing what he's gonna do next. Very solid weekend from the 6'0" wing guard.
