New York, NY (Future150) -- On a fairly busy sports day, it was quite possibly the announcement that 2013 five-star forward Aaron Gordon said he had a top five that had the biggest impact on the college basketball world.
Gordon is a special player that some have anointed the next Blake Griffin due to his frame and the way he plays. With that comparison there is no reason why every school in the country didn't want him, but Gordon came out and named his final five in an interview with Nation of Blue, a prominent Kentucky website.
Kentucky, Washington, Arizona, Oregon, and Kansas have all made been cited as the schools standing out right now. Gordon says he has no plans to take any visits right now.
At first glance it would seem that Kentucky would be the favorites by name alone, but Gordon admitted he wasn't sure how he fit with the Wildcats. He went on to say that his relationship with Washington's coaching staff has made them his favorite.
So what does that mean for the other four programs? While Kansas, Arizona, and Kentucky all can make up ground quickly on the recruiting trail, Oregon doesn't have quite the brand name on the hardwood yet. Their strong affiliation with Nike will come in handy though, as Gordon runs with the Oakland Soldiers, a Nike sponsored program.
There is no timetable for a decision yet but you can bet that all five programs will be chasing after Gordon for the entirety of his recruitment process.
