One night after the Zags found out their seed and location for the big dance, 2016 C Zach Collins committed to the program. This is just another skilled big man Mark Few has reeled in recently. (Karnowski, Olynyk, Wiltjer, Sabonis)

Collins has the chance to be an immediate impact type player once he arrives at Gonzaga. Collins really took a turn for the best this past summer in the AAU Season as he had shown drastic improvements. Collins plays at Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, which is the same school where highly touted 2015 big men Chase Jeter, and Stephen Zimmerman play at. This is one of the reasons Collins may have still been overlooked this season. But next season it will be Zach’s team and I fully expect him to continue to improve and rise in all recruiting rankings nationally.

Zach had received offers from San Diego State, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. That list probably would of grew quite bigger had he not committed tonight.

Zach is another great story of a player who worked really hard over the course of a season and accepted not being noticed until it was his time. His time is now very much here as he will dominate his final AAU, and high school season, and be the BMC at a premiere basketball program within the next few years.
