2015 small forward Derrick Jones of We R 1’s AAU program had a standout performance at the NBA Top 100 Camp this past weekend at the University of Virginia. The 6’6” forward, rated currently as Future150’s #26 prospect in the rising junior class, talked to Future150 a little bit about his recruiting situation right now.
Currently, Syracuse, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Xavier, Penn State, Villanova, St. Joe’s, and Temple have all offered the talented wing, and he mentioned that Syracuse, Temple, and St. Joe’s as the schools pursuing him the hardest right now.
In terms of what he is looking for in terms of a good fit at the next level, he had this to say.
“I would like to stay close to home so my parents and family can see me play. I’m looking for a program with a great coaching staff and being able to talk to a coach about anything,” he said.
In terms of schools he has already been on campus at, right now Temple is the only school he has been to. However, he has two big unofficial visits looming.
He informed us that Syracuse and UCLA will be getting visits from him in the near future.
