I will be in Milwaukee all weekend for Summer Jam.  The tournament is loaded with Mac Irvin Fire, All-Ohio Red, MBA (MS), Louisville Magic, Playground Elite EYBL, Playground Warriors (adidas), Howard Pulley, and the list goes on and on.  I am confident this is the best tournament in the Midwest this weekend. 

From time to time I will add some thoughts here.

Mac Irvin FIRE 15u just smashed MBA Hoops out of Mississippi.  MBA has Ladarius Marshall (top 10 nationally).  Mac Irvin has a ton of guys including Kezo Brown and Chase Adams.

2017 PF Evan Battey (CA) reminds of a young Draymond Green.  But he can shoot.  Battey has a big smile on his face after knocking down a 16’ to extend lead to 47-39 late.  FIRE struggling to hit buckets in the paint.  6’7”  275ish

Might take a look at Texas Select next.  They have two very good 2017 guys playing up.  Lil’Jordan Humphrey and Chris Giles.  I have heard Ahmad Caldwell is pretty good too.  Never seen these guys.

Michigan is now recruiting 2016 SF Brendan Bailey (UT).  Bailey was an Arizona State verbal, but backed out when Herb Sendek was ousted.  Now Bailey is considering schools like UConn, Arizona State, Utah, etc.

I am now a believer in 2018 WG Steven Fitzgerald (KY).  The Louisville Magic are smacking the Wisconsin Playground Warriors 15u.  Fitzgerald just slashed baseline and poked on two dudes.  As I type he caught an offensive rebound and quickly put it in.

Also playing great today is Willie Hill (KY).  I have been tracking Willie since last June.  He just keeps getting bigger and better.  Wiry-strong, great slasher.  Needs to prove he can shoot the 3, or good coaches will sag off of him.  Still, he is a HM combo guard for me.

Danny Butt (2018) is a great glue guy.  I wonder about his position at the next level, but he has 2+ years to figure it out.  He reminds me of Sergio McClain of Illinois fame.  Rugged.  Feisty.  Good handle.  Winner.

The Magic take a wise timeout.  Wisconsin Playground Warriors are mounting a comeback.  They trail by just 3 points with 2:11 remaining in the game.  Stars on WI Playground are many.

Fitzgerald scores again in the open floor.  Wonderful wing.

Tied 49-49 we head to overtime.  This game has a lot of energy embedded in it.  Both teams have not lost in a week.

Wisconsin now have 51-49 lead with final seconds ticking down.  McCabe drawing fouls.  FT’s on the horizon.

Adam Trapp tries to dunk to wrap this one up.  He is fouled and heads to the line.  FT GOOD.  FT MISS. 52-49 seconds left. Danny Butt hits 3!
