Hey guys. Recently a few kids have named UConn their “dream school” or they are waiting for offers and “may commit” after they get them. Do you guys know what kids UConn is looking at and the chances that those kids commit to UConn? It doesn’t matter what class either 2013, 2014, or possibly 2015. Anything is greatly appreciated.

UCONN, like many other elite programs in the country, chase the best of the best. Jabari Parker, Chris Walker, Isaac Hamilton, Kuran Iverson, Davon Reed, and Tyler Roberson are just a few of the top 2013 kids the Huskies are after. While I think Parker, Walker, and Hamilton are all just pipe dreams at this point, they have legitimate shots to land any, or a combination of, Iverson, Reed, and/or Roberson.

UConn could have one (maybe two) commitments by the end of July from what I have heard

Who are you hearing Garrett? Obviously right now they aren’t a sexy college choice with the NCAA infractions.

I have heard that Akoy Agau really likes UConn. It’s all a matter of the staff evaluating him in July.

The Uconn staff. Had a guy tell me Kevin Ollie really likes him, too.

I know for a fact the staff likes him. He is one of their top priorities at the guard position. XRM’s father lives in Connecticut and that helps, but I don’t think they get him when it comes down to it

I think UConn is a good fit for Wayne Selden.  UConn is going to have a touch sell no matter what elite guys they attack…the sanctions are going to make it hard on them.

Yea but the post season ban is over after this year so it won’t affect him and they will have at least four maybe five scholarships available for the recruiting class of 2013 so I’m not sure what the problems will be for the recruiting classes coming up. Also UConn is building their new state of the art training facility soon which will be built by 2014 or 2015 which is a bonus.

I agree with you if the sanctions are lifted and there shouldnt be a problem then with them getting who they want.  The new facilities will help for years to come but with UConn always going after the top top guys they 1 and done kids that will not play as much a factor.grin

The thing is with UConn is they go after the top top guys all the time but usually don’t get them. They get kids that are in the 15 to 45 range usually then some other top 100 guys. I can only name one, one and done in the last five years for UConn being Drummond. They have gotten top guys i.e. Kemba, Roscoe, Daniels, Boatright, Oriakhi nut they haven’t been one and dones.

Isaac Hamilton recently named his top five schools and he said that he is planning on visiting them schools. Among them he said UCONN and Florida which is interesting because he has said that he doesn’t want to go that far from home and they are both across the country. That being said UCONN did watch him today and he had a great game. What doylithink UCONNs chances are with this kid?
