Here are some short updates for the classes of 2015 & 2016 players:
2015 big man Caleb Swanigan reportedly cut his list to seven schools. (Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State, California, Purdue, Arizona, & Chicago State) Caleb declares his recruitment is still wide open but many think this recruiting battle will come down to Duke & MSU. Last time Izzo & Coach K battled hard for a 5 star recruit was last year. Coach K came out on top of that one getting a commitment from Jabari Parker. Swanigan will have the most interesting process going forward.
2016 SG Tyus Battle’s father came out earlier this week and let everyone know, despite the negative attention coming from Syracuse Basketball, that the Orange are still in the running in his recruitment. His father called the situation, “Business as usual.”
2015 SG Tyson Jolly’s recruitment has really picked up the past few weeks as he has recieved plenty of offers. Tyson is one of the better prospects still avaliable in his class. He has offers from Creighton, TCU, UTEP, Tulsa, California, SMU, & Oklahoma State.
A pair of 2015 PG’s committed this week: Elijah Cain to DePaul, & Traci Carter to Marquette. Cain is a decent pick up for DePaul, while Carter is a bright red cherry on top for a stellar five-man class coming in for Wojo & Co. next season, headlined by big man Henry Ellenson.
Other headlines from this week:
2016 PF Sedee Keita added a Texas Tech offer to his long list of D1 offers.
2016 PG Braxton Beverly picked up an offer from Ball State.
2015 SG Jahaad Proctor reopened his recruitment after getting out of his letter of intent from Holy Cross. The reasoning behind this was the firing of Holy Cross’s HC earlier this week.
2016 PG Alterique Gilbert picked up a UConn offer.
2015 G Cole Gentry committed to South Dakota State on Thursday, after they extended an offer to him on Monday.
