New Orleans, LA (Future150) -- Coming off an exciting summer circuit with his AAU team, Louisiana Elite, Larenz Williams is looking to carry that momentum into the fall. Williams is a freshman at Dr. King Charter School, but is expected to play a big role on the team.
“I think my role on the team is to be a leader, and to be a scorer,” Williams said.
Though Williams has high expectations going into this season, he knows there are parts of his game that he needs to work on. He is at his best when he is out in the open floor attacking the basket. He is 6 feet 4 inches tall, and is lengthier than most players when he is in the lane, which makes it easier for him to get off a clean shot.
Williams is focusing on his mid to long range jump shot, and realizes that could open up more opportunities for him to penetrate. If he is able to find some consistency from outside the paint, it is going to be difficult for defenders to contain him.
