Decatur, AL (Future150) -- Future150 was the first to discover Venezuelan talent Luis Hurtado when he attended our Atlanta Main Event in the spring, only a few weeks after moving to the states.
It was evident then that he was going to be one of the premier talents in the class of 2017 based on his size, skill, and feel for the game of basketball.
The 6-foot-5 point guard with a European style of play is always in control of the flow of the game. He doesn't let the defense speed him up or slow him down. He has good ball skills, can score when necessary, and has phenomenal court vision.
After standing out at our Elite 24 Camp in August, where he was named as the #6 overall prospect in the camp, he has picked up a ton of publicity over the past four months.
After already receiving an offer from Georgia, Georgia Southern extended a scholarship offer yesterday. Florida, Florida State, George Mason, Louisville, Mississippi State & Tennessee have all inquired about the young talent as well.
While playing on an absolutely loaded Greenforest Christian Academy (GA) team this winter, he has started the season strong. To date, he is averaging six points and nine assists per game while helping them to a 4-2 start.
Keep an eye on Hurtado and the Eagles as they play in the prestigious City of Palms Classic this weekend in Florida.
Future150 analysts Adam Barnes and Brian Flinn will be at the event giving routine updates.
