Birmingham, AL (Future150) -- Led by 5'9" shooting guard and breakout star of the division, Alex Odam, the MC Warriors (AL) took down the Memphis Wildcats (TN) 50-41 in the Future150 Main Event Birmingham 12-and-under championship game.

Future150 Main Event Birmingham Honor Roll:

Alex Odam, 2023 SG, MC Warriors (AL): The breakout star of the division was the 5'9" shooting guard. A smooth guard with an effortless stroke, he was unstoppable all weekend long. He can get baskets anywhere he wants, and when necessary, he's able to run the offense as well. Right now, he tracks as a nationally rankable-type guard who is emerging as a possible future star in the Southeast.

Braylen Ragland, 2023 SF, Memphis Wildcats (TN): Already standing near 6-feet tall, the talented wing did it all for his team, leading them to the championship game. At this stage, he's able to play all five positions on the floor, and can play them well. He has good footwork in the post, can knock down shots from the perimeter, and has good foot speed and instincts and both ends of the floor.

EJ Smith, 2023 PG, Memphis Wildcats (TN): The most fun point guard prospect of the division was the smooth lefty. He got into the paint at will, and dazzled with his passing ability. He's a fiery floor general who has a passion for winning, and he looks like one of the next stud lead guards to come through the city of Memphis.

Sam Wright, 2023 Post, HCBC (AL): The 5'9" post showed us glimpses of just how good he can become down the road. In spurts, he showed excellent post moves and the ability to finish around the rim. His footwork was very impressive, and as he grows and gains strength, he's going to become a problem for defenses all over Alabama.

EJ Smith2023 Post, Tennessee Future (TN): The 5'11" big man prospect was the most statistically impressive player on his team throughout the weekend. In games we viewed, he tallied 13 & eight points, respectively, and showed a lot of upside to his game between his size and skills. It's important to keep monitoring the McCallie School (TN) prospect going forward.

Alex Coleman, 2023 PG, Memphis Dragons (TN): The 5'2" point guard has extremely quick hands, averaging close to three steals per game in Birmingham. He has an excellent feel for the game, and he's near impossible to stay in front of when he's attacking downhill. He did most of his damage scoring on the fast break. He's also a fearless competitor.

Demontae Thomas, 2023 PG, Monroe Select Elite (LA): The 5'0" guard was one of the most impressive scorers' that we witnessed in his division over the weekend. In two games we viewed, he scored 21 & 19 points, respectively, and did so by scoring the ball on all three levels. One thing we really enjoyed about his game was his ability to attack the basket.

RJ Johnson, 2023 PG, South Huntsville WolfPack (AL): The 5'4" point guard was locked in from the perimeter throughout the weekend, but was especially impressive during one game when he dropped 20 points, including four 3-pointers. At this stage, he's showing signs of being a solid scoring guard as his sixth grade year winds down.

Sam Carroll, 2023 G, Alabama Steel (AL): The guard prospect showed the ability to score the basketball on all levels during one of his games on Saturday at Main Event Birmingham. What was most impressive about Carroll was his skill set for a prospect so young. The future is bright for the Alabama player.

Devin Crockett, 2024 PG, Panthers (AL): The speedy floor general was battling all weekend for his team, and played hard on both ends of the floor for his squad. He had several baskets in transition and was fearless when attacking the rim. If we had to bet, we'd assume that he'll develop into an excellent vocal leader in the future.

Dylan Fairbanks, 2023 PF, Carver Premier (AL): The 5'8" post stood out to our staff with his size and scoring ability on the interior at Main Event Birmingham. While his team took a tough loss to the Memphis Wildcats, he did his part, scoring 15 points against one of the most impressive teams in the division.

Marklin Mitchell, 2023 F/C, Monroe Select Elite: Mitchell stands around 6'0", and was very impressive protecting the rim and running the floor, getting easy buckets in transition. Once he develops better footwork down low, he could be a nice threat in the frontcourt heading forward. Mitchell is definitely a young prospect to keep an eye on in the Monroe Select Elite program.
