Bowling Green, KY (Future150) -- Putting in lots of hard work and being a humble player is not common in all young players.
Dylan Gaines out of Bowling Green, Kentucky is a young man who does fit the mold of being a hard work and humble player on and off the court.
Gaines is a 5-foot-10, 130 pound guard who is fearless on the basketball floor.
He is very controlled, attacking the basket hard on offense, going right around his defender, and finishing at the rim even stronger.
Relentless defense may be an understatement when talking about Gaines. He really knows how to lock down his defender, making it hard for this defender to do anything.
The guards scores on his open jumpers and also looks to find open team-mates with solid passes, setting them up for their own shot. He is great overall team player.
“I believe that my strengths are my court vision and my driving ability, plus the way I interact with my teammates on and off the court,” Gaines claimed.
Although he is hard worker and has a good overall game, he knows improving upon his weaknesses is what is going to improve his overall game.
“I can shoot, but I want to shoot with more consistency,” he advised. “Making that improvement will really help me in the long run.”
Although no colleges have made contact up to this point, he is hoping that he can attend one particular dream college one day.
“I would love to attend the University of Kentucky,” Gaines told Jr. Future150. “I like their style of play, fast tempo, the pick & roll, and how they drive the ball to the basket; it all fits my type of game.”
“I know it’s a big dream to attend UK, so I have lots of back-ups in mind that I would like to receive interest from,” Gaines added.
He is going to be a very good player for the next couple of years, going forward into high school, plus he is already maturing above his age. With that maturity he wanted to leave the following comment.
“To all the players that are younger than me, I would like to tell them go always go hard, because you never know who is watching and because going hard all the time is how you will get better.”
