Owenton, KY (Future150) -- Kentucky is a basketball state, but some recruits have trouble living up to the hype in this tradition rich state.
Carson Williams is a 6-foot-5, 225 pound small forward out of Owenton, Kentucky that is proving he can handle the pressure of being from Kentucky.
This freshman forward is very talented on the basketball court. He has a strong athletic body that allows him to rebound and block shots at a very high level.
He handles the ball with great ease and doesn’t fade when under pressure. His all around game and size is what makes him a standout player on the floor.
Although he is good player, Williams realizes that he still has to continue improving his game.
“I am not happy with my outside shot, I want to become more consistent when shooting the ball,” he said. “Also during AAU season I like to work on my footwork and speed.”
Williams brought up to me an NBA comparison that is obviously a skill comparison and not size relation.
“I like to compare myself to Kevin Love, because we are both big time rebounders and real physical players on the court,” Williams explained.
Last year he was able to help his high school team win their district and region tournament. He was selected to the 8th region All-A Tournament Team.
He has a big dream and knows that it is going to be real hard to achieve, but everyone has to have something big in their mind to hope for.
“I would love to attend the University of Kentucky,” Williams mentioned. “I grew up watching them and I’ve just loved them since I was a little kid.”
This athlete has a lot of potential and is going to be a great player to watch in high school.
