Houston, TX (Future150) -- The Jr.Future150 Camp was at it again for the second weekend in a row, this time in the Lone Star state and the city of Houston.
The staff is hot on the trail looking for tomorrow's brightest stars. The camp had talent from Oklahoma, Louisiana and Texas, and boy did they not disappoint. Players from the 2016-2019 classes were in attendance. Let's take at some of the players from All Star Sunday.
Shayon Tayebi-(2017, SG) - Tayebi was Mr. Hustle all weekend long and never gives up on a play. He seemed to be everywhere with his hands on the ball. He showed a nice mid-range shot to go along with good half-court vision. Overall, he is a team player and was always looking to make the right pass. He is a solid rebounder on both ends and can play both guard positions.
Brandon Chaney-(2016, SG) - Chaney was easily one of the more polished kids at the camp and he showed the ability to score in a variety of ways. In doing so,made it look easy. We are really excited to see him compete at the camp with the older kids in which he was invited back to because of his dominant play this weekend.
Kenan Mitchell-(2018, CG) - Mitchell had a very solid camp playing both guard positions very well. He showed the ability to knock down three-pointers, but he was at his best when slashing to the basket. He showed good court vision in both transition and the half-court. You can tell he has a good feel for the game.
Travon Shelving-(2018, CG) -The nephew of Daniel Gibson did a great job of carrying the family name. He used his high basketball IQ and court savvy to play with kids that were older and more physical. After knocking down deep three-pointers, he got by his opponents and used his go to floater to score in the lane.
Aaron Julien-(2017, CG) - Talk about a player that has a high motor and never stops playing hard, just reference Julien's photo in the dictionary. He likes to score in the open floor and get to the rim on the fast break. His mid-range game was probably his greatest asset outside of his on-ball defense. One has to be impressed with a player who plays hard all the time.
Jarvis Johnson III-(2019, PG) - Johnson was one of the more under control players in the camp. He played with poise and you can tell he knows how to play the game. He showed the ability to score on all three levels as well as pass the rock to his temmates. He is a solid on-ball defender and loves competing against the older players.
Kamron Jackson-(2017-SF) - Jackson is super long and athletic. He uses his length to finish when attacking the rim. He also can guard multiple positions on the floor due to his length. He likes to shoot the three-ball and loves getting garbage buckets off of offensive rebound put-backs. He has tons of upside and as he gets stronger look out.
Kameron Clayton-(2017-PG) Clayton is a quick guard who can play both guard positions. Plays with a great change of pace and makes his teammates bettter. He proved he can knock down the 3 point shot with consistency. One of the better on ball defenders in the camp. You can just tell he knows how to play the game the right way.
