Chicago, IL (Future150) -- Being a decent ball player from Chicago is fairly common, but being an elite basketball player from the city of Chicago is an extremely hard task.  Many natives cannot live up to the expectations and pressure that the city holds.

Jordan Simmons is a young kid that is becoming a household name in Chicago.  Not only is he standing out in his hometown, but he is becoming well known nationally.

This kid has already been proclaimed the best point guard in the class of 2018, by many different scouting services.  At this time he is living up to all the hype.

The abilities and skills that he has obtained are above and beyond the majority of players his age.

His ball handling schools are incredible, he seems to never lose the ball or panic when the rock is in his hand.  He posses great court vision keeping his teammates involved at all times, plus making sure that he carefully sets them up for their own shot.

When needed, he can also score on all three levels.  He takes it hard to basket finishing with either hand, even through contact.   Simmons is also able to pull up for a mid-range jumper or a three pointer, drilling the shot.

Right now at his young age, Simmons knows that he has to keep improving his game, so that he can achieve his goals at the next level.

“I am really working to improve my defense; I want to be a lock-down defender, Simmons advised.  “I also want to improve on knocking down the three more consistently.”

Another way to keep improving his total game is to keep attending camps and tournaments.  These events allow to him to get more exposure, plus put him up against the top talent from across the nation.

“I want to travel to a lot of different tournaments for the 2013 AAU season and prepare for nationals,” he mentioned.  I plan on going to the King James Classic, NOLA, Gymrats, NY2LA, Swish N Dish, Fab 48, and M.I.T. events within the next year.”

“The plan for me is to attend the Chicago Jr. Future150 Camp this fall as well,” he added.

In understanding all of his game, he is able to provide a legit comparison of his game to one specific NBA player.

“I pattern my game after Deron Williams,” he claimed. “The way he passes the ball, his ability to score and his court awareness is what I want in my game.”

Simmons is a talented basketball player, but he does have some other hobbies that he likes to enjoy.

“I like art and music,” he revealed.  “I take acting lessons at the 2nd city acting school in Chicago, plus I can play the trombone and piano.”

He works very hard on and off the basketball court; he evens prides himself in doing well in the classroom.

“I am an honor roll student and I have been since receiving letter grades,” he reported.

This kid has high aspirations and his hard work attitude is going to get him there someday.
