Philadelphia, PA (Future150) -- Not everyone can score at will on the basketball court.
That gift is definitely present though for Izaiah Brockington out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
This 5-foot-6, 105 pound combo guard can fill it up from deep and can shoot a excellent mid-range jumper as well. Also worth mentioning is the sweet little floater he makes at a consistent rate.
Brockington really knows how to score the ball and can really hurts defenses with his ability to stretch the floor out. Add in his point guard flair and you have a very genuine all around player.
With the vast amount of skills that he possesses, his game has allowed him to play AAU ball for the NorthEast Sting 14U squad and then play up a level for the Hotshots!Global 15U team.
Although he has a lot of strengths, he does understand what his main weakness is at this time.
“I am a solid left-handed player, but I need to work on improving my right-hand,” he advised.
He really wants to continue making his overall game better and has plans to do so.
“I'm looking forward to heading into my 9th grade year, where I will be on the exposure/camp circuit competing with the best in my class & others,” Brockington described.”
Understanding all of his abilities, he was able to provide a valid comparison of himself to a couple of well know ball players.
“I think right now my game is a solid mix of Derrick Rose and Austin Rivers,” he claimed. “My current play style (while continuously developing) is “Derrick Rose like” with nice ball handling and driving skills.”
“I also have a shooting ability that is “Austin Rivers like” with a good long to mid range shot and I have a good overall feel for the game,” Brockington added.
Even though he has obtained lots of talent early on in his career, he does realize that it is an evolving game and you have to continue to work hard.
“Right now my main priority is to develop & transition into the Neumann Goretti system, my eventual high school program.”
