LEWISVILLE, TX (Future150) -- Hype Basketball is hosting their Winter Jam Tournament on Jan. 2-4 and there will be a lot of high level talent coming in, especially from the West Coast.
Notable 8th graders (2019) from the West Coast coming in include:
EJ Jackson (West Coast Stars): One of the most entertaining guards to watch, very fast with excellent ball handling abilities. Future150.com talked exclusively with Jackson about his progress.
Jovon and Jaden McClanahan (West Coast Stars): Two brothers that cause disruption on defense and are efficient finishing when driving into the lane.
Winston Ekeo (West Coast Stars): Ekeo is a 6'5" forward that with great potential. Will be one to watch.
Class of 2020:
Tyjuan Overton (Team Balance): At 6'2" Overton can play either guard or forward. He is very versatile, can score at will, and can guard multiple positions.
Jalan Adams (Team Balance): A 5'5" guard with great handles. Plays very mature for a 7th grade point guard.
Jason Harris (West Coast Stars): A 6'2 forward that is arguably the best player to come to the tournament. Crazy talented.
Class of 2021:
Paris Dawson, Tyrone Washington (West Coast Stars): Three high level players that lead one of the top 2020 teams in California and the nation.
These teams such as Team Balance/Terrance Jones and West Coast Stars will travel down to Lewisville to play against the top teams that Texas has to offer. Texas pride rests on the skills and cohesion of such teams as Pro Skills, Team Texas, Texas Express, and Texas Select.
