Chicago, IL (Future150) -- Home is where the heart is.
Marquise Walker played his first year of high school ball as an eighth grader for South Warren High School (Kentucky). He will finish this summer out with Team Florida. Next month he will begin a promising high school career in a new state though.
But he will start his freshman campaign back home in Chicago.
Walker is currently ranked #21 nationally.
Marquise was a starter for Bowling Green South Warren High on the varsity team and averaged 11 points, six assists, and two steals.
For AAU, Walker played for awhile with We All Can Go (WACG), out of Tennessee. Together with Tyger Campbell (#9), Walker formed arguably the best backcourt in the country . Now he is ending the summer with Team Florida and the #1 player in the country in Balsa Koprivica.
Marquise is just a big time player that has a natural flare to his game.
“You have to watch Marquise play several times to get a full understanding of all he can do,” said his father, Chikosi Walker.
Seeing him play multiple times I would have to agree. One game he may be a pass-first guard if need be. The next game he may become a scorer if the game calls for it.
One thing that is consistent with his game is every style will be exectuted with flair. Walker models his game after Kyrie Irving and Chris Paul.
Even though he’s been ranked top 25 consistently that still doesn't’t stop the grind.
“I’ve been working on becoming a better leader and giving as much effort on defense as offense,” said Walker. “I also made the Honor Roll every grading period this year, so my grind in the classroom has picked up as well”.
It is only fitting that Marquise performs in the bright lights of Chicago, where high school basketball is king. He wouldn't’t have it any other way
