Houston, TX (Future150) -- Jason Pratt contributed to this report.

Future150 MDC 12U division consisted of several close, hard fought games but in the end the Louisiana Rockets beat the Louisiana Legends in the championship game 60-56.

Here are the top performers for the 12U division.

Donte Shepherd2021 PF, Urban Kings: Dribbling is a nice skill for the 5'10" Shepherd.  While handling with the left he slashes with big strides.  The taller 12u talent might develop into a wing down the line.  He sees the court well.  As the primary scorer for Urban Kings Shepherd doesn't get to supply to often.  The scorer can finish with contact already because of his strength and mid-air agility.

Jordan Whitley2021 C, Urban Kings: Whitley is a post that has good touch around the rim. Good defensive rebounder and shot blocker as well. Very raw offensively but has the physical tools to be a threat inside.  As he gets stronger look for his game to take the next step. Tons of upside.

Jaden Brooks Parker2021 CG, Urban Kings: Brooks Parker is a quick guard that shoots it well from three. Hit on average two three pointers each game this weekend and that goes with his good playmaking abilities he showed on the drive as well.

Josh Brown- 2021 SG DFW Hornets: Brown is an aggressive guard that gets into the free throw line frequently. He loves attacking the rim in transition.  His best attribute might be his first step which allowed him to get by his defender with ease. Had a strong game against the Urban Kings scoring 15 points.

Frederick Johnson -CG 2021 DFW Hornets: Johnson is a fundamental, smart guard that doesn't force the issue on offense. He has good court vision and feel for the game. Can hit the three when open and facilitates the ball well. Every coach wants this type of the player on their team running the show and scoring at will.

Ernest Roberts- 2021 CF, Louisiana Rockets: Roberts has great size for a forward his age. He handles the ball well and is a good passer in the high post. A versatile player that showed the ability to run the point sometimes.  The one thing he did well was score from 15-feet and in. A tenacious rebounder on both ends of the floor, Roberts has a high ceiling if he continues to grow.

Demarcus Fugett 2021 SF, Louisiana Rockets: Fugett was scoring on the drive all weekend. Not afraid of contact and scored efficiently from the perimeter, as well.  Fugett was great scoring in transition.  He loves breaking down the defense off the dribble and if you help he can pass to his teammates for open shots. Gotta love how hard he competes.

Patrick Neal2021 SG, RL9 Elite: Neal is a strong guard that was actually one of the taller players in the 12U division. He can post up other guards, create separation for a shot off the dribble and possess a nice floater as well.  He was one of the better shooting guards in the tournament.   As he gets stronger look for his shot to fall more often. Those 100 Push-ups per day will be his friend.

Jordan Boston2021 CF, Louisiana Legends: Jordan plays with a high motor and that leads to many offensive rebounds. Boston's decent footwork in the post is effective with his drop step towards the middle because he can create space for a shot.

Santana Johnson2021 CG, Louisiana Legends: Santana plays physical and handled heavy on ball pressure well. Sees the court in transition and creates for his teammates. Johnson has a high Basketball IQ, realizing when to push the ball up the court and when to slow it down and get the offense set up.

Demari Witt - 2021 PF, Louisiana Legends: Witt plays with a very high motor and scores mainly off offensive rebounds and put backs. He plays his role well on the team because they do not need to run a play for him in order to be effective on offense.  He runs the floor well and is a good on ball defender.
