Houston, TX (Future150) -- Future150 was in Houston, Texas on Memorial Day weekend hosting the annual Memorial Day Classic Tournament at the MI3 Center. Tons of teams from several different states were on hand showcasing their talents.

The Louisiana Rockets defeated Total Package in the championship 68-58 in a tough hard fought game.

Here are the top performers from the 13U division:

Demarcus Fugett, 2021 G (Louisiana Rockets) Fugett was Mr.Consistent all weekend long leading his team to the championship. His ability to score the rock and play defense made his team hard to stop.  He averaged 9 points and 5 assists on the weekend and scored at will on the fast break.  As a coach you have to admire how hard he plays on the both ends of the floor.  Solid overall performance.

Corey Humbles, 2021 PF (Team Tarheels) - Easily one of the best frontcourt players in the division, Humbles scored in the paint with ease all weekend long. His efforts on the glass was relentless and he really helped his team cruise to some easy victories. Tons of poor shots were cleaned up and turned into east points because of Humbles excellent abilities to position himself well to grab offensive rebounds.

Rhett Evans, 2021 G/F (Texas Inferno) - Evans was a hard cover, as he was always looking to score and he usually did. He showed off his abilities to put the ball on the floor and slash the lane or pull up for a mid-range jumper. Evans certainly has a more mature game than most prospects his age, and his development and growth heading forward will be vital for his future in basketball.

Jamal Frazier, 2021 SF (Team Tarheels)- Frazier was doing it on both ends all weekend long.  He can score in bunches and loves attacking the rim off the dribble.  If you leave him open he can knock down the 3-point bomb with ease.  He is extremely versatile and can guard multiple positions on the floor.  Consistency is something the coach knows he will get from Frazier when he is on the floor.

Shelton Celestine, 2021 CF/C (Louisiana Rockets) - Versatility was the name of the game for Celestine on the weekend. He is very capable of playing both forward positions, along with center. Celestine might have been the best rebounded in his division and has a very strong build for a rising eighth grader. All the intangibles are there for him to have a very bright future in this sport. He takes home MVP honors as he led his team to the championship.

Jathan Caldwell, 2021 SF (Third Coast Elite) - Caldwell impressed with his knowledge and feel for the game, along with his vocal leadership on both ends of the floor. He took pride in his defense and caused plenty of turnovers with his lengthy frame. On offense Caldwell showed the ability to knock down the jumpshot, but was at his best when slashing the lane and grabbing offensive boards for second chance points.

Dashon Batiste, 2021 PG (Third Coast Elite) Batiste is a pass first point guard who plays under control and makes everyone around him better.  He can score on all three levels and love to play defense.  If you leave him open he will knock down shots all day long.  His team went as he did and most of the time that led to a win.  Coachable is a word that would describe his play to his point.

Jordan Whitley, 2021 G (Urban Kings)- Whitley is a player that every coach wants on his team.  He controls the game on both ends of the floor and can go get you a basket when you need it.  His court vision makes all of his teammates better and he keeps the scoring balanced.  Competitor is a word that describes his game.  As he gets stronger and adds some weight look for his game to take the next step.

Nickson Bess, 2021 C (Total Package) - Bess already stands at 6'2 as a rising eigthh grader. He ran the floor quite well and finished around the rim when given the oppurtunity to do so. His main strengths at this point are his rebounding and his overall defense. On defense he eats up so much space in the paint and can disrupt shots almost constantly if anyone decides to drive into the lane.

Elijah Mouton, 2021 PG (FYN All-Stars) - Mouton led his team with confidence througout the weekend. Even though he handles and has good passing abilities like a PG, he also had the capabilities of playing the two spot with his nice jump shot. Mouton has quite the motor for a 5'4/5'5 guard, and loves to take his defenders off the bounce to make plays.

Antonio Reynolds, 2021 SF (Third Coast Elite) - Third Coast Elite not only benefitted from one talented wing with Jathan Caldwell, but two and the other one comes in the form of Reynolds. Reynolds is certainly more of a scorer than Caldwell as he showed off a beautiful jumper from mid-range and was very hard to stop once he put the ball on the floor and headed towards the rim. Reynolds was very fun to watch over the weekend, and the future looks bright for the rising eighth grader.
