Atlanta, GA (Future150) -- The Elite 24 All-Star Game for the 2019 class gave us a glimpse of who some of the most impressive rising seventh graders will be in the country next year. Here is a look at which middle school prospects used the weekend to shine brightest.
Chandler Lawson, 2019 SF: The most impressive youngster in the rising seventh grade class was the 6-foot-5 forward, our #1 prospect in the class. For such a tall prospect at his age, his skill set is unbelievable. He can play every position on the floor and can do it admirably. The younger brother of Memphis high school star recruits Dedric and K.J. Lawson, the genetics are there for him to become a terror at the high school level.
Joe Cooper, 2019 PG: The best passing point guard prospect in the camp, regardless of class. The Memphis prospect has court vision and passing skills well beyond his years, and used his natural instincts to completely dominate other campers his age. He is crafty with the basketball and always makes the right decisions on the floor.
Larenz Williams, 2019 C: The long and athletic post prospect made an impression this weekend by rebounding and scoring the basketball, as well as by using his 6-foot frame to block shots at a high rate. He is skilled enough to play on the wing, but has the post moves and footwork to put in work on the low block. Very talented prospect.
John Cole Norris, 2019 CG: The 5-foot-6 combination guard was the most impressive defensive prospect in his class. Not only did he play intense on-ball defense, but he also used his sky-high basketball IQ to dominate in Atlanta. He has solid ball skills and is a lights out shooter on all three levels. Very crafty prospect.
Charives Hunter, 2019 SF: Another Memphis product who had a huge camp was the physical forward. A muscular 5-foot-9 wing, he used his powerful frame and rebounding skills to impose his will on the rest of the 2019 campers. He also showed the ability to score the basketball on all three levels and played unselfish basketball.
J.C. Tharrington, 2019 PG: The 5-foot-8 floor general was one of the smoothest prospects at the camp. A crafty ball-handler with excellent court vision, J.C. never got rattled by defensive pressure and was always aware of open teammates. He also knocked down jump shots all weekend and showed the ability to score the ball on all three levels.
James Curtis, 2019 PF: Mr. Fundamental of the 2019 class. James had excellent skills on both offense and defense. He rebounded the basketball, showed excellent footwork in the post, and knew how to play help side defense in the post. He also was an excellent low post passer and has the ability to handle the basketball when playing on the wing.
Jordan Wright, 2019 SG: A crafty guard with excellent ball skills. The 5-foot-8 wing had very impressive ball skills and used his muscular frame and quick first step to get to the basket where he finished against contact with ease.
Sterling Hopkins, 2019 SG: The 5-foot-9 shooting guard is a long and skilled wing. He uses his long limbs and athleticism to rebound the basketball on both ends, and finished around the rim quite often over the weekend. Also a skilled slasher, Sterling gave defensive fits with how active he was on the floor.
Paul Stramaglia, 2020 PG: One of the youngest campers at the Elite24 was the Birmingham, Alabama guard. While he was at a size disadvantage, he used his high basketball IQ and elite ball skills to excel on the floor. He got into the lane at will and consistently found his teammates for easy baskets with regularity. Also a good shooter from the outside.
