Dayton, OH (Future150) -- Being smart, talented, and driven is what a young competitor must possess to be an elite player.
Camaren Clarke out of Dayton, Ohio is a player who does have those exact qualities.
He is a 6-foot-1 small forward that has great speed and agility on the court. He has a good scoring nature, plus can rebound with the best of them.
Clarke knows hard work pays off, plus he knows what makes him standout.
“I believe that I have the desire to always become better and strive to work harder,” he suggested. “I have the drive to go harder.”
He wants to continuously improve his game and knowing what he needs to work on his the key.
“I believe my weakness is that sometimes I take my faults too hard and it affects my game,” he explained. “I need to take things lighter.”
To help better his game he tries to attend lots of camps and tournaments, so that he can get acclimated to a higher level of competition.
“I have attended the Buckeye Prep Elite Spring Showcase, Middle School Elite Camp, Ascension Holiday Tournament, Edison High School AAU Circuit Tournaments (Fresno, California), and was invited to attend Hoop Scoop All-American Camp, but was unfortunately unable to attend,” he listed.
There are plans to attend the Jr. All American Camp and Buckeye Prep Elite Fall Showcase as well.
Since he puts in the extra work, he will have the chance to achieve his dreams. One dream of Clarke is attending one specific college.
“My dream college would have to be University of Kentucky because of Coach John Calipari and the way he runs such an incredible program,” he expressed. “Calipari and his staff know how to develop players.”
“Kentucky is a very academically sound school, plus not to mention my favorite rookie, Anthony Davis attended UK,” he added. “I just really like that school.”
It is too early to tell whether he will be recruited by Kentucky, but they do seem to be his early favorite.
There is a long road ahead, but Clarke knows what he wants and what it takes to get there. He is going to be someone to keep an eye on in the coming years.
