Huntsville, AL (Future150) -- Working hard and being humble is the name of the game.
Brandon Powell , a 6-foot-2, 165 small forward out of Huntsville,
Alabama is a young athlete who does the little things on the court to help his team win.
This young small forward plays very hard both on offense and defense. He gets rebounds, loose balls, blocks shots, steals the ball, and creates turnovers.
He is a stat stuffer for statistics that are unfortunately not in the box score, but that is never a bad thing. Those traits tend to impress any coach who is watching him play.
Powell is a Jr. Future150 Camp Alum and really did well at our first ever Jr. Camp in Nashville, making the Top 40 game.
“I feel I am different on the court because of my all-around game,” Powell said. “I also feel the harder I work on the court, I know in the end my team will have a better chance at winning.”
Powell has labored in the gym to work on his craft, but also knows that he still needs to keep improving his game.
“I want to continue working on my shooting, specifically from behind the arc,” he provided. “My on-ball defense is something else I want to get better at. “
With the skills he currently has, there is a possibility that he will be able to attend one of his favorite schools.
“I like Kentucky, LSU, West Virginia, Auburn, and Alabama because they have good overall programs and they are all on the right path,” Powell explained.
“Alabama is my dream school because it’s in my home state and they have a good tradition,” he expressed. “I would also like to attend the Alabama Basketball Academy one day.”
I know he just hopes one day that all his dreams can be achieved and with the dedication he has to working hard, that goal is very obtainable.
