Atlanta, GA (Future150) -- Most would not believe it if Aaron Augustin said he has yet to step on the court for a high school game. While it is the truth, this rising freshman plays much older than he truly is.
So far this spring, Augustin has taken the challenge of playing up an age group with the CP3 All-Stars, and he is continuing to toast the competition.
A few weeks ago at the Future150 Main Event in Atlanta, the 5-foot-10 point guard led his team to a championship. His leadership and game directly reflects the player he molds himself after: Chris Paul.
“I compare myself to Chris Paul a lot. We both like to get our teammates involved and be true point guards,” Augustin explained. “My strength is getting to the basket and finishing or passing, whichever I need to do.”
Despite his age, colleges have already started to take notice of the Georgia native’s talents.
“So far, I have heard from Clemson, George Mason, Detroit, and Georgia Tech. I’m just looking to get better.”
How will he get better with his overall game? Augustin has some specific things he wants to improve on.
“My strength and conditioning is the main thing, and after that, I would have to say my three-point shooting.”
Augustin may only be an 8th grader, but with time, he could be one of the best point guards in the 2016 class.
