Pottsville, PA (Future150) -- Each year, Future150 staff searches the country for elite 7th and 8th grade basketball talent to invite to our Elite24 All-American Camp in Atlanta. In late July, we received a tip to check out a talented guard named Trey Alexander on a strong AET Elite team, so we made a point to evaluate him at PrimeTime Nationals in Dallas. While he was very impressive, we left wondering who his point guard was.

It turns out that the talented 6'0", 150-pound floor general is also the point man for Trey's school team as well, which explains why the two played so well together on the AAU trail. Dalante Shannon left the PrimeTime Nationals tournament with an invite to Elite24 Camp, and traveled from Oklahoma with Alexander to attend. That decision proved to be a good one, as he left as one of the stars of the event.

A high IQ prospect with excellent instincts and passing skills, he was named an Elite24 All-Star while separating himself from the majority of point guards at the camp.

Playing at Casady School (OK), his name is beginning to catch on locally, as the University of Oklahoma has already started to inquire about him. Currently, he's averaging 20 points, eight assists and five rebounds per game, and working to improve his game.

"I'm currently working on using moves I practice in games," he told Future150.

The toughest backourt tandem in the state of Oklahoma in the 2021 class, both Dalante and Trey consider one another their toughest opponent, which makes for some fierce practices.

With AET Elite figuring to again be one of the best AAU teams in the Southwest this spring and summer, Dalante has bigger goals than just where basketball may take him.

"I want to be able to be an impact player in the NBA eventually. But I also want to have an AAU team named after me, and to create my own fundraisers to help kids who are less fortunate," he went on to say.

While he's certainly got a long way to go to achieve his dreams, his mindset and work ethic will certainly help him to get there. Stay tuned to Future150 as we continue to track the talented prospect.
