Houston, TX (Future150) -- One of the rising stars in the Houston, Texas metropolitan area is 2021 guard P.J. Neal of Albert Thomas Middle School (TX). After standing out at Jr.Future150 Houston Camp in August, he's seeing his stock continue to rise as he heads into AAU season.
While only 13 years old, he already stands 6'2" and weighs in at 165 pounds, making him a very tough prospect to handle at the point guard position. He loves to use his crafty ball skills and bullish frame to slash to the rim where he's very good when finishing against contact.
While he's currently undecided about where he'll play his high school ball, he does know who he'll be playing with on the AAU circuit this spring; Houston Hoops. Their 2021 group is a very talented one, and P.J. is excited for the opportunity.
"I want to continue to grow and develop while creating a lifelong brotherhood. I also want to become a better leader and a more consistent shooter while working on my court vision, on-ball defense & transition game," he told Future150.
Currently averaging nearly 30 points, seven rebounds & eight assists per game for his middle school team, he mimics Jalen Rose, James Harden & De'Aaron Fox for inspiration in his own game.
As far as competition goes, he counts pint-sized floor general Zion Harmon as the toughest competition that he has played against in his own class, doing so at the 2016 John Lucas International Middle School Combine.
Expect P.J. to make waves in the coming months while playing with his talented Houston Hoops team, so stay tuned to Future150 for updates.
