Hershey, PA (Future150) -- Donyae Baylor-Carroll of Hershey, Pennsylvania is a point guard who has vision and passing abilities well beyond his years. Whether it is a pass ahead of the defense or a behind the back pass, it is always on target to a teammate.
He is a pure shooter and creates havoc on the defensive end, averaging five steals a game this season for this team. He has led Milton Hershey Middle School to an 11-6 record behind his 19 points per contest.
Although his passing skills are well beyond his years, he averages a double-double, and surprisingly, it's in points and rebounds. He averages 10 rebounds to go along with his 8 assists.
When talking with Donyae, he said that his favorite player of all time is Magic Johnson, but he compares his game to Kyrie Irving. “My favorite player of all time is Magic Johnson, he was the greatest point guard to play the game,” he told me.
When talking with his middle school coach, he had this to say. “Donyae is a player who makes people around him better with his vision, presence, and work rate.”
He also said that he is a very intelligent kid that excels in school. “Regardless of the competition he plays to win and be the best player on the court,” said his coach.. He was not the only one giving praise to his standout, his teammates also chimed in, “He is our leader, we trust him.”
Donyae is only a 7th grader and his biggest accomplishment this season, in his eyes, was getting called up to the 8th grade team. “I was the only player who they called up, and it felt good,” said Baylor-Carroll.
Overall, he is very humble talking about his game, and he lets his game speak for itself. Over the course of the season he has had three triple-doubles, and in one game, he was just two steals shy of a quadruple- double. He is a good prospect and he is looking to continue his hard work to try to get to the next level.
