Memphis, TN (Future150) -- Being a standout basketball player in middle school, is something that most do not experience.
Chase Hayden (Class of 2017, St. Georges High School/ Memphis War Eagles) is an 8th grader from Memphis, Tennessee, who has to live up to such big expectations.
Hayden is a 5-foot-6 point guard who can score easily on the court. He takes defenders off the dribble with a good first step and then finishes strong at the rim.
His stifling defense makes it hard for any opponent to get off a shot or even an open look at the basket for that matter.
Even though it is early, several schools have already taken notice of this young guard.
I got invited to Memphis and Tennessee Elite Camps so far,” he informed.
When asked who he would like to be recruited by, he provided the following list.
“Duke, Tennessee, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Syracuse, and Memphis are the teams I would like be recruited by in the future,” he provided.
Even though he is gaining attention now, he also knows that there is a specific part of his game that he knows he has to work on.
“I need to work on my court vision, I do not see the floor well at all times,” he mentioned. “My coach says I need to find open teammates on the block.”
Since he is only in middle school, he just wants to continue improving his game and focusing hard on his school work.
“I want a great education,” he proclaimed.
This kid is on the right path and has the talent to accomplish all his dreams one day.
