Nashville, TN (Future150) -- Nashville isn't known as a hoops hotbed like neighboring Memphis, but that doesn't mean that there aren't any prospects in the city. One of the brightest youngsters in the city is an 8th grade prospect at Haynes Middle School.
They are sitting at 14-2 this season, and the main reason behind their fast start has been the play of Bo Hodges, their point guard.
The 5'10" floor general put on a show for the Future150 staff in a game we saw him play this past week.
It was impossible for the opposing Bailey Middle School guards to stay in front of Bo, who got to the rim at will on his way to 27 points, 14 assists, nine rebounds, and four steals.
It has been an amazing year for Hodges, who is averaging over 30 points per game.
However, he isn't the only talented long term prospect on his team. Big man Jonathan Gillard is a 6'2", 160-pound forward who is just learning the game of basketball. If his size 15 shoes are any indication, he has a lot more room to grow.
For now, both players are showing that while the city may be short on quantity of talent, it sure isn't on quality. Both Hodges and Gillard are prospects to keep an eye on over the coming years.

Keep up the hard word. I’m looking forward to seeing the two of you doing bigs things on and off the court!
I’ve seen this kid put up 45 points with a quadruple double like it wasn’t nothing. I saw him put up 56 points in Memphis which showed me he was one of the best young gaurds I’ve ever seen.
Good Job Jonathan. You two are doing big things!
Go nephew!!! Jonathan we are so proud of you!! Keep going! Aunt Della
Awesome job both of you all. Glad to know Timothy is around good company of ballers
I’ve seen this kid Lil Bo on the circuit since he was in the 3rd grade, and he had all the tools then….never seen him play in school, but if he go threw kids in AAU, like he does…I can just imagine what he does in Middle School.
The kid was in the 6th grade and got mvp in a tournament in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade in one tournament. I use to think his dad was hard on him. But that goes to show you how much I know. You look good kid.
Bo Hodges, good kid good attitude and one of the hardest working kids I’ve been around. This is nothing new to him or his family I know. Ball handling is crazy, his I.Q on the court is unbeleivable for a kid that age and he shoots jump shots with both hands.
I was in Hampton, VA. when this kid got to the Nationals late after they flew him in late, it was so much buzz about watching this kid play on the third day of tournaments,. that he had almost every coach in the building watching him play. Smooth player and he is so aggressive on defense that you forget how good he is on offense.
My daughter is on the cheerleading squad for her school and I have gotten a chance to watch him play us twice. And he lit us up both times, I don’t know how many points he scored but it was a lot, but he done it with no problem at all, and I know he had about 13-15 assists and it seems like 20 steals.
Always one of my best students ever. You hear how good of a athlete he is, but to me he is a better student. Keep up the good work Bo.
I’ve had a chance to be around this kid and watch him play the past 2 years, not only does he display a wide range of offense/deffense skills, but he has court presence and the ability to see the entire floor and most importantly he makes his teammates better a charateristic rarely found at his age along with the poise of a kid 3-4 years older than he is. Bo Hodges is surely one to keep a eye on in the Nashville area!!
