Matt Coleman, Trevon Duval, Aaron Thompson, Justin Roberts, Romin Williams? Let’s debate on who’s the best point guard in the class!

Collin Sexton is about the best pure Pg I have seen during the AAU season. Lamont Berzat is the best scoring pg that I watched.

There are a lot of good PG in the 2017 class…Howevere, in my opinion, Blake Williams of Memphis along with Remy Martin from CBC are the top two of the top PG in the country in the 2017 class.

I think that Laperion Perry will be in the top point guards in 2017

I have seen Trevon Duvall, Justin Roberts, Romin Williams, Collin Sexton, Blake Williams, Remy Martin and Laperion Perry this year. Here is how I would rank them, and why…

1.) Blake Williams - Tough, hard nosed Memphis style guard. Can score, run a team, play physical man defense. Consummate floor general. Has best body of work nationally to date.
2.) Trevon Duvall - Kid has excellent height at 6’3”, which translates well, but right now is more of a scoring guard. That being said, he’s pretty darn good in that regard.
3.) Justin Roberts - The lefty is a fun kid to watch. Strong with the ball in his hands, has good quickness, loves to get others involved. A capable scoring as well, especially when attacking the basket.
4.) Remy Martin - Supremely quick lead guard who has a sky high basketball IQ. Has been on the national radar for a while now, and always lives up to the hype.
5.) Collin Sexton - Jet quick guard who thrives when attacking the basket. Crafty at the rim, and shows good court vision as well. Very passionate competitor who always wants to win.
6.) Romin Williams - True point guard with a high IQ. He finds his teammates in open spots on the floor. Doesn’t force the issue and can be deadly when his long range jumper is falling.
7.) Laperion Perry - Extremely quick kid who is very fun to watch. Only thing holding him back right now is his height, but with his ball skills and speed, has a bright future.

In my mind Justin Roberts is the best point guard, but watch out for two point guards out of Fort Wayne, IN: JJ Foster and Jalen Paul. Both are great shooters and are doing big things on the varsity level. They are a little undersized, but they still find ways to make things happen.

A lot of changes coming to the 2017 list soon, particularly among the PG group…

Guys like Lavar Batts (NC), Jaylen Hands (CA), and Markus Howard (AZ), only account for a few of names not listed but are certainly in the discussion for the top tier, if not the top overall spot at the lead guard position.

Stay tuned as we’ll revamp the lists in the coming weeks at JrFuture150.com and Future150.com!

Very difficult call on the 2017 PGs in latest rankings. Expanded list will be available soon, as will a positional depth chart. In the meantime, here’s the story (http://t.co/AtodccTYul) and updated national 2017 Top 25: http://future150.com/jr/basketball-rankings/2017/

Interesting to see no one under 6 feet tall made the top 25, although these rankings are excellent.

Interesting to see no one under 6 feet tall made the top 25, although these rankings are excellent.

Basketball is a game of inches and it takes a VERY special sub-six footer to make a national top 25 list in any class.

However, each year there are a number of players under six feet tall who ascend the national rankings and prove that they can compete at the highest collegiate level. Already a number of these prospects are emerging in the 2017 class.
