  • Scout’s Notes:

Blackwell is a strong, smooth player maker. He is terrific at making plays with the ball in his hands. He can penetrate and kick, drop off or finish himself. He is also very good when coming off ball screens and makes the right decision at a high percentage of the time. He also uses his body and quick first step to get to the basket at will.

University School-Jackson @ C.P.A. (November 2014): Despite a slow start Blackwell took over the game.  He has amazing leaping ability and will likely become an elite defender.  Unfortunately, he will barely see elite individual opponents during the high school campaign.  For this reason Blackwell has to generate an almost contrived sense of motivation.  Because he can easily dominate giving 70% there needs to be an internal drive that forces him to demand that extra, sometimes unneccessary 30%.  If there is a weakness to his offensive game it is outside shooting.  Regardless Blackwell is a Top 50 prospect in the Class of 2016. -Force
