Bothell, WA (Future150) -- Zach LaVine has been a name known in hoops circles in the Seattle area since his freshman season at Bothell High School (WA). However, even after yet another big season playing for his high school team, he remained a fringe top 100 prospect by recruiting services.
That seems to be changing. After hitting a monstrous growth spurt over the past year, now standing 6'4", and showing an ability to score from anywhere on the court during AAU play this spring, he is ready to shoot up rankings boards from coast to coast.
After tearing up the Pangos All-American Camp two weeks ago, he is now taking part in the 2012 NBPA Top 100 Camp in Virginia showcasing his skills against the best prep players in the land.
With the ability to play both the point guard and shooting guard positions efficiently, it's no wonder UCLA, Arizona, Washington, Gonzaga, Memphis, Louisville, and many other schools are jockeying for the talented combo guard.
While there are whispers on the west coast that UCLA is the front-runner to land Lavine, don't count out Washington and head coach Lorenzo Romar, who could possibly land a monster class in 2013.
No matter what school reels Zach LaVine in, one thing is certain, by summer's end he will be skyrocketing in Future150's next rankings release.
