LEWISVILLE, TX (Future150) -- Sunday, the Winter Jam was big time. There were very competative games at The Mac and at Swisher Courts.
Game of the Day: 2023 GCBC vs D1 Basketball
In a intense championship game, Ty Cox of D1 Basketball hit a game winning shot from the top of the key to end the game and give his team the championship.
Class of 2019
Daylan Fletcher (United Ballers): Fast guard that scores at will. Tough. One of my underratted guards in this tournament.
De'vion Harmon (Team Texas): Had a fastbreak dunk on Sunday and was a problem in transition. Combination of athleticism, speed and size was a problem for evey defender.
Chris Harris Jr. (Team Texas): His game is very mature. He is tough to stop in one on one scenarios. It's like he knows what to do before he even gets the ball. Has college distance range and some.
Bryce Okpoh (Team Texas): Big that runs the lane very well and finishes with contact. More of a face-up post right now and can score from 10-15 ft consistenly.
Jovon McClanahan (West Coast Stars): Kept the Championship game against Team Texas close at the half. He gets whatever shot he wants and that is what makes him such a high level guard.
Jaden McClanahan (West Coast Stars): Like his brother, scored effectively from the perimeter and inside with floaters. A good passer in transition also. Plays mature for his age.
E.J. Jackson (West Coast Stars): A lot know him for his handles but he is a very tough guard that plays with a lot of heart. Breaks his defender down and gets in the lane well. He is a very unselfish player that looks to get his teammates involved. A true point guard.
Class of 2020
Donovan Payne (Mighty Kings): Solid post. Plays good one-on-one post defense and finishes in the paint well.
Deveontae Lias (Mighty Kings):Had another good day. Is a good spot up three point shooter and a good passer when he drives in the lane.
Nathan Dominick (Mighty Kings): Shot lights out on their first game on Sunday. I counted five threes but it could of been more. Spot up shooter that spaces the floor for the Kings.
Tyjuan Overton (Team Balance): Good guard/forward with terrific size for his position. Lefty that gets to the line a lot and scores effiently from the top of the key.
Anthony Hutchinson (Houston United): Big that blocked shots effetively and scored heavily on put backs. Runs the floor well in transition. A high motor post.
Zailin Cleveland (Texas Select): High volume scorer that has a very good pull-up jumper. Crafty with his finished in the paint. Solid guard with potential.
Jason Harris (West Coast Stars): Most dominate player in the 7th grade division. Scored effectively in the post and handled the ball decently in transition. Dominated on the defensive interior also. Had a dunk in his morning game that woke up the crowd. He is a big-time player that people need to watch out for.
Dillon Depina (West Coast Stars): Like this kids game alot. Big power forward that moves very well for his size. Played 7th and 8th grade this weekend and contributed at a high level in both divisions.
Tyrone Washington (West Coast): Shifty guard that handles the ball very well. Breaks his defender down and gets his shot off pretty easily. Sets his team up in the halfcourt game and does a good job being a disciplined point guard.
Jay Wilson (D1 Basketball): Faced off against Jason Harris on Sunday morning and held his own. Does a little bit of everything on the court. He has a lot of potential.
Kylin Green (B.M.M): A big, bruising guard that creates his shot well. Not many people wanted to get in his way when he was going full speed.
Class of 2021
Gavin Perryman (Team Texas): A skilled forward that shoots consistently from the midrange and can score in the paint. Effective rebounder also that played well Sunday.
Roedrell Freeman (Team Texas): Bruising post that was a problem inside offensively and on the boards
Chris Page (West Coast Stars): Lengthy post that was great on help-side defense and in the high post on offense. Face-up post that has some range.
Brandon Perez (West Coast Stars): Skilled forward that can put the ball on the floor and shoots the ball well. One of the favorite 2021 players in the tournament.
Jaedaun Slack (B.M.M): Played for the 7th grade team and played like he belongs in that level. Did a good job playing pg Sunday
Duncan Powell (B.M.M.): Also played in the 7th grade team. Good rebounder that scored effectively inside against Team Balance.
Vincent Rockwell (United Ballers): Played 8th grade division. Did a solid job handling pressure and found the open spots on offense. Held his own defensively and that is what was most impressive.
