Cheyenne, WY (Future150) -- 2018 SG Willie Jones of Cheyenne Central (WY) hasn't garnered much national, or even regional buzz for that matter, but the Wyoming prospect should be garnering serious D2 offers and even D1 interest in the Pacific Northwest & Midwest regions.
Jones attended two Future150 Camps this summer and garnered high praises after both camps.
"A gem from the state of Wyoming, has great size to him, and an impressive 6'8" wingspan," Future150 GM Eric Hampford stated previously. "As he sculpts his frame he's going to prove he is a potential division one player."
Not only does he have very solid measureables, but he has no problems putting the ball in the basket from all three levels. His ability to shoot the ball and create plays for other along with his size and knowledge of the game make him to be a definite division two prospect with division one potential.
"Definitely my pull-up jumper," Jones said in regards to what he believes attributed to his big summer. "I've always been able to get to the rim and finish through contact, so adding a lethal pull-up shot really escelated my game."
As of now he has only seen a few DII schools come in contact with him since the summer, and the only DI school he has seen any type of interest from is the University of Wyoming, where he took an unofficial visit to recently.
Jones has all the traits right now of becoming a very solid late-bloomer prospect in the 2018 class. Continue to follow along with Future150 as we continue to track his surprisingly quiet recruiting process.
