Chicago, IL (Future150) --
On Monday night Northwestern fans have to be happy. Bill Carmody and company have landed their point guard of the future in NJ native Jaren Sina. Sina is top Future150 player ( #121 to be exact) and more importantly, an elite shooter. In a system like Northwestern's it's easy to see how Sina will fit with the program.
Sina was once committed to Alabama but opened things back up after last summer. Plenty of other programs went hard after the talented lead guard but in the end it was Northwestern that stood out among the rest. Sina had mentioned that Academics were a major factor for him, so seeing him land at Northwestern is not surprising.
Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Butler, Cincy, Miami, St. John's and Villanova were all involved with Sina as well and will now have to turn their focus to other options for their backcourts.
Now that the Wildcats have landed Sina it is likely they will turn their focus on Chicago natives Jabari Parker, Kyle Davis, and Jaylon Tate as well as out of staters Marcus Lee, Reggie Cameron, and Jaron Hopkins. Obviously Jabari Parker is the big name here but landing any one of these six to go along Sina would greatly bolster the Wildcats. Sina is the most highly touted prospect to end up at Northwestern since 2004 and the Wildcats hope that he isn't the last.
