Brooklyn, NY (Future150) -- Seton Hall had already put together the best recruiting class since Kevin Willard took over as the head coach. On Thursday they landed their crown jewel, Isaiah Whitehead.
"The other schools kind of had a player they honored. I kept taking visits and they told me about guys who had played there. I want to be one of those guys, that's why I chose Seton Hall," he said.
Whitehead is determined to forge his own path in South Orange, and he won't be alone when he arrives on campus. BIshop Loughlin (NY) combo guard Khadeen Carrington committed to The Hall just a week ago. The Pirates also picked up important pieces in Huntington Prep (WV) power forward Angel Delgado, and East Side (NJ) wing Ismael Sanogo.
That is a powerful influx of talent set to hit campus next year and Isaiah will be the headliner. A talented guard, he might be the best scorer in the class of 2014. Only Rashad Vaughn can compare when it comes to having a complete offensive game.
With the comittment out of the way, only three goals remain. A city and state title, and making the McDonalds All-American game. While the comptetition will be stiff during the high school season, the All-American game seems like it is very much in play. After torching the Nets at the Elite 24 this summer, it would be shocking to see Whitehead left out of any of the major all-star events at the end of the year.
Look for Lincoln and Isaiah to make another run at both a city title and state title before he sets foot in South Orange next fall.
