Charlotte, NC (Future150) -- There are a handful of players from North Carolina that have played very well the past few months, but are just now scratching the surface. With the high school season not too far away, here is a list of players that could see their breakout campaign begin during the 2016-17 season.

Jalen Seegars2017 SG, Team CP3/High Point Christian Academy: Built like a football player, Seegars is a 6'5 bruising two guard that is at his best when slashing to the rim. His on-ball defense is very impressive and his offensive game continues to develop and improve. He currently holds offers from Hampton, High Point, Monmouth, Vermont, Western Carolina, and Winthrop. Expect that list to grow as he should have a big time senior season at HPCA.

Justyn Hamilton2017 F/C, Team United/Independence: Hamilton has been known on the east coast for quite some time now, but it may be about time for Hamilton to turn into a national name. Nearing 20 offers and his most recents coming from DePaul and Temple, he could work his way into high major status this coming season. His game on the offensive end has improved vastly and his  qualities as a rebounder and rim protector is easily one of the best in NC.

Trey Wertz2018 SG, Team Loaded NC/Providence Day School: Wertz had a very productive AAU season picking up offers from Charlotte, Clemson, and La Salle along the way. Simply put he can put the ball in the basket. With his good size and scoring abilities, paired with his solid rebounding and leadership skills, he should solidfy himself as one of the best 2018's in the state. Don't be shocked if Wertz is the next high major prospect to come out of PDS.

Tre Turner2018 CG, Team CP3/Northwest Guilford: Known as more of a football prospect, Turner has continued to improve on the hardwood. His defense, court vision, rebounding, and outside shooting are his best qualities of his game at this point. He is slowly working his way towards an overall player that does not have many glaring weaknesses. With his most recent basketball offer coming from Yale, it wouldn't be shocking to see him start pulling in plenty of mid-major offers, and maybe even some high majors. Turner's recruiting process is definitely one of the most interesting to watch heading forward.

Joey Baker2019 G/F, Team Felton/Trinity Christian: Baker's coming out party has already began this month as he has seen offers from NC State, Texas, and Virginia Tech come his way. Standing at almost 6'8 he can play the two and three very efficiently, and can hold his own at the PF spot because of his basketball IQ and good athleticism. Baker could easily prove he is worthy of a top 25 spot in the 2019 national rankings after this coming high school season.
