Brian Flinn:

Future150 National Recruiting Analyst. Covering high school basketball nationally.

Decatur, GA (Future150) -- Make no mistake, Wheeler High School's (GA) basketball squad is loaded. Austin Smoak is the senior leader, Elijah Staley is the two-sport star, and sophomores Daniel Giddens, Jerron Love, and Jaylen Brown are all highly regarded.

Yet one of the lesser known names is starting to turn heads in point guard Avery Patterson. While he is waiting his turn to be the leader of this team, his recruitment has already started to draw some big names.

"Georgia, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Radford, Penn, UAB, and Boston have all been in contact," Patterson told Future150.

Only Boston and UAB have offered so far, but that will change during the AAU season and with a strong showing in the Georgia state playoffs.

Patterson is a guard who can play both positions due to his ability to knock down shots and his high basketball IQ. He also has exceptional strength, allowing him to play defense and finish at the rim through contact when needed.

Patterson said he feels if though he hasn't reached his peak yet, which is a scary proposition for opposing teams in Georgia.

Patterson has the looks of a high major guard as of right now and says he is looking for a school where there is a family setting and a place that has his preferred major of sports management.

Look for Patterson to continue to make a name for himself going forward.

Avery a shooting guard. Jerron is more instinct to get team better and involved. and I dont think hed go somewhere with a pg already. Most schools have two pg yeah but he shooting guard. If he pg then don’t need jerron or make jerron the shooting guard
