San Diego, CA (Future150) -- One of the newest members of the updated Future150 rankings for the class of 2014 is San Diego shooting guard Trey Kell. The St. Augustine (CA) product slides into the latest rankings at #100 in the country, and there's a good chance that he will rise higher by summers end.
One look at his offer list and it's pretty evident that the west coast schools know just how talented the 6-foot-4 shooting sniper is.
Oregon, San Diego State, UC-Irvine, UC-Davis, Gonzaga, Colorado, Oregon State, Portland, San Diego, Pepperdine, New Mexico, Utah State, Nevada, and Pacific have all offered him scholarships.
However, after a solid spring and a standout showing at the NBA Top 100 Camp at the University of Virginia two weekends ago, east coast schools are starting to take notice as well.
Boston College, Davidson, and Lehigh are all schools east of the Mississippi who have offered, and there will be several more to come after the July evaluation period.
Trey models his game after Paul Pierce and Joe Johnson, which are pretty good comparisons for his game. He is a crafty shooter who plays extremely well without the ball in his hands. He is also a knock down shooter from anywhere on the floor.
In terms of what he is looking for in a future home, Trey had this to say to Future150.
"I'm looking for a school that has a strong academic program, a great group of people, and the opportunity to play."
"As for next season, my goals are to help my team win the CIF and help my teammates get better," he said.
