Springfield, MA (Future150) -- As the calendar year turned, so did the attention of a lot of college coaches to the class of 2018. With the early signing period behind us by a couple of months, and most schools having either completed their class or only looking to take one more player, 2018 is hitting center stage.

For Bishop Gorman (NV) wing Jamal Bey, things are really starting to pick up both as a player and on the recruiting front.

"I feel like I'm at my best when I'm playing hard and defending. That's when everything else really starts coming together and shots start falling," he said.

A 6-foot-6 wing with great shooting ability, Bey looks as though as he could develop into a nice "three-and-D" option at the next level. His size and strength make him a decent rebounder as well.

It is unsurprising that USC, ASU, UNLV, SDSU and Nevada have all offered, while UCLA and Arizona have been involved, with the Wildcats watching him at the Spalding HoopHall Classic this weekend.

Despite having a number of big time programs involved, the process probably won't end any time soon.

"I feel like I won't make a decision until after the high school season is over next year," said Bey.

Playing with Vegas Elite on the AAU circuit, Bey will surely pick up a few more offers before it's time for him to make a decision. Look for him to be one of the more sought after prospects on the West Coast this recruiting cycle.
