Franklin, OH (Future150) -- Duke may have seen their season come to a disappointing end last week in the 2014 NCAA Tournament, but on Monday night, they picked up an integral piece of their future.

Franklin (OH) star Luke Kennard chose the Blue Devils over Kentucky, Michigan & Ohio State, giving the Blue Devils their first commit in the 2015 recruiting cycle.

The 6-foot-5 wing is a 5-star prospect according to Future150, and picked Duke on the heels of a monstrous junior season in which he averaged 40 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. He was named Mr. Basketball in the state of Ohio as well as the 2014 Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year.

His speciality is scoring the basketball, and will fit in perfectly at Duke with his ability to knock down deep jump shots while also having the ability to create for himself off-the-dribble.

On the summer circuit, he plays with the King James Shooting Stars program, alongside high profile sophomore V.J. King of St. Vincent-St. Mary (OH). Look for the two guards to make their mark this coming AAU season.
